Testimony by Tathena Griffitts, Scholarship Recipient
The Lawton Business Women’s scholarship is an absolute blessing. The scholarship pays for part of my tuition and all of my books each semester! My husband is a Lawton fire fighter and for the last four years I have mowed yards for a living. Our salaries barely meet the needs of our household with two small children, so receiving this scholarship gives our family peace of mind in knowing I am able to have the books and supplies that are critical for me to maintain my 4.0 gpa and to learn as much as possible during my college career. I genuinely cannot express how much it means to have such an incredible group of strong women support those of us women who are on our journey to doing great things! The Lawton Business Women’s group is a torch that helps light the way and reminds us that many amazing women have been where we are raising families, working and earning a degree to better our future! I will be graduating soon and I know I couldn’t have done it without the support from the Lawton Business Women.
